Most of the midweek games are lopsided matchups, so let's focus on two possible upsets.

Tue, Mar 17 — Auburn, AL

#2 Auburn Tigers vs #9 Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets

The biggest midweek game and the only Top 10 vs Top 10 midweek matchup is between the #2 Auburn Tigers and the #9 Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets. The Yellow Jackets make the trip down I-85 on Tuesday for first pitch at 4:00. The Tigers swept the home-away series last year, so the Yellow Jackets will have some revenge to pay.

Auburn will send Andreas Alvarez (1.37 ERA, 2-1) to the mound while it is assumed that Georgia Tech will start Dimitri Angelakos (1.38 ERA, 1-0). We'll give the edge to Angelakos in this game since he brings no walks and 10 strikeouts on his resume. Alvarez has struggled with base runners and has been forced to get out of jams early in games.

Auburn will be looking ahead to #4 Texas coming to town this weekend, and Georgia Tech sneaks out of Plainsman Park with a win.

#27 Texas A&M Aggies vs Texas State Bobcats

Texas State is a dangerous Sun Belt team that has had success against Power-5 teams. Texas A&M is coming off an SEC opening series loss and is already feeling the pressure to secure wins outside the brutal SEC schedule. Texas State takes advantage of the Aggies looking toward their weekend match with Georgia.
